Question 1A. Conceptually, how familiar are the Fade and the Veil to you? Are there similar phenomena (however minor the resemblance) in the place from which you came?
While I have been doing some reading on the Veil and the Fade of Thedas, there is only the understanding that energy (or consciousness) is compelled to move along to a different realm of reality after the body has died. It does not have a physical presence in the world I am from as the Fade does in this one.
Question 2A. If yes, is energy drawn and/or emitted from or through it? Do cognizant beings (spirits, full bodied manifestations similar to a Rifter, and so on) pass through it?
Not that I am aware of but there is a great deal I am learning I am not aware of, so it is not impossible by any standard.
Question 3A. Does "magic" exist in your world?
Yes, definitely.
Question 3A.(i). If "magic" exists in your world, is it somehow tied to or sustained by this other space?
As in the separation between free consciousness and those that are imprisoned within a body? I don't know.
Question 3A.(ii). If "magic" exists in your world and there is no such alternative dimension as referenced in Question 1A., from where does it originate?
There are a number of theories about where magic comes from, including but not limited to magical objects themselves, one's own sense of self and ability, and the heart of various stars.
Question 7B. Do you have any other abilities, such as mage talent? If so, has the presence of the rift shard or your time in Thedas affected your ability whatsoever (please note whether this is a negative or a positive effect)?
My time in Thedas thus far has dictated that I relearn many of my magical capabilities, while others remain out of reach and inaccessible to me at this time. Overall this is a negative effect.
Question 8B. At what point would you take surgical measures to rid yourself of your anchor shard?
At the point in which the anchor shard posed a real and present threat to my life.
Question 8B.(i). Would you permit scientific observation of the process?
No.
Question 8B.(ii). Would you permit samples to be taken from the limb?

Dear Sir,
I wished to extent my thanks for your answer to the survey. I have just a brief note of clarification which I would like to discuss regarding your answer to question 7B, to which you wrote: 'My time in Thedas thus far has dictated that I relearn many of my magical capabilities, while others remain out of reach and inaccessible to me at this time. Overall this is a negative effect.'
Have you perceived any natural division or ordering between the abilities which you must relearn versus what seems completely inaccessible to you? I should be very interested if there was a way to categorize what the realm of Thedas allows to function, as it were, versus what it does not.
Please feel free to return your answer to either the office of Project Felandaris or to my own mailbox in the dining hall.
I have not perceived a 'natural' division or ordering between what I am able to do now and what I have been able to do for centuries. The spells I learned earliest still work, to varying degrees. I am sorry that I do not have more information for you at this time; should my answer change, I will be certain to let you know.
Thank you sincerely for the offer to keep me informed on your progress. I would be delighted to hear of it should your circumstances alter, and would strongly encourage you to make a thorough account of your present abilities so that it will be easiest to track any future changes. I have often regretted not taking a more rigorous record of my early days in Thedas, for is it not always so much more difficult to recall what was true in hindsight?
I wish you the best with your progress, and once more extend a welcome to Riftwatch. Should you find yourself with any questions in the future, you are most welcome to submit them to me and I will do my best to fetch you an answer.

Definitely not.
